I have never been very eager to merit since I enjoy leveling different jobs. This might also be caused by the jobs I had so far for merit parties, Bard and Red Mage, both being rather stressful with all the singing/pulling or curing/hasting during merit parties. With Warrior it all seems so much easier, even though I didn't merit much so far, i managed to pile up 164 points (which is much more than I ever expected to have o: )
Lately I used all the time I had to get more and more points so I can finally finish my Black Mage, at least merit-vise ;)
I don't really want to think about all the gear I still miss :/

Group 1 merits should be self-explanatory, you basically only burn/cast thunder or blizzard based spells, beside some very few exceptions.
For Group 2 I had to think a lot about it, at first I wanted to do 1-1-1-0-2-1, but after some discussing with other Black Mages in my Linkshell I came to the conclusion that this would work better for me. Flood II to enhance Burst II which is maxed for best Magic Accuracy and Magic Attack Bonus. Freeze II for the rare occasions (Hi Aspi ;) to burn with it and Tornado II for Ouryu BC.

But still if I look at my other jobs that I have already at 75 and at those I want to level, it seems endless to merit some of them decently.

It's been quite some time since I made an account at this Livejournal, but either I had no time to write or nothing really interesting happend in FFXI.


But now something great happend!

After months of camping we were finally able to claim another Aspidochelone, tho I didnt have high hopes on drops for this one (good stuff doesnt really want to drop when I get to claim a HNM, luckly I rarely get the chance tho ;)

Fight went smooth even tho we didnt have that many BLM and then *bam* it happend:


I knew I was on the line for it, but I also knew that I tend to lot low on such occasion with someone else also lotting :<

Luckly I was the only one and won the lot with flawless 962 :D
